The companion project to Dublin Core for Drupal is DCMetaSpider - a system that can crawl a document collection, collect any metdata found and then present it to the content owner for editing. One of the outcomes of this is a metdata-based search engine.
Whilst the two projects have common elements, there are also some fairly major differences (they are written in different languages, for starters), so DCMetaSpider has its own site.
